about HBML
The Hank Beebe Music Library Inc., an educational and charitable tax-exempt Maine nonprofit, is the custodian of the corpus of Hank Beebe works.
Staffed by dedicated volunteers, we are currently in the first stage of assembling and organizing all the many components such as scripts, scores, pencil originals, cassette tapes, reel to reels, yellow pad notes, photographs, published works, video tapes, CD's, records, works both familiar and previously unknown.
We need your help!
Projects

We are emptying dusty boxes and sorting their contents into clearly-labeled clean totes. It's not glamorous work, but it's the first step toward cataloguing what we have inherited.
Eventually, everything will be scanned and catalogued digitally. Physical copies will be archived.
There is also a tremendous amount of music programming to be done to create accompaniments for shows and choral works.
Pencil originals are turning brown, making them less legible and more prone to crumbling. Time is of the essence.
Take The Bus Productions is working with HBML to realize Beebe musicals as movies, in order to make them more widely accessible and to create interest.
The next large-scale movie project will be announced soon!
The Cowboy & the Tiger was realized by Take The Bus Productions as a child's fantasy come to life.
There are many ways to get involved!
Ways to help
Scan

Thousands of pages of sheet music, scripts, photos, and more need to be scanned. Example: the fading pencil original of Way Up in North Carolina c. 1951.
Digitize
Help transfer hundreds of cassette tapes, VHS, reel to reel, and records full of priceless gems! Example: clip from digitized cassette tape of Go Out Singing 1984.
Program Music
Do you know how to create midi tracks from sheet music? Want to learn how? Welcome! You know how much there is to do! Example: midi track of the overture of Me and My Music.
Cast or crew

Want to be involved in front of or behind the camera? Example: a still from Guard of Honor movie 2017.
